🔮 A BOARD THAT MOVES

✨ Live planchette: a hand-detailed brass and glass planchette glides across the board to each letter and spells out every answer in front of you.
🪶 Smooth, weighted motion: it eases into each letter instead of snapping, and drifts slightly while it waits, as if something is still resting on it.
💡 Lens glow: the glass lens lights up on every letter it lands on.
🔤 Every detail spelled: it lands on YES, NO and GOOD BYE directly. On a double letter it slides off and comes back, and it returns to rest between words.
⏳ Thinking pause: the planchette hesitates before it moves, so every answer builds tension.
📜 Question and answer on screen: the question shows at the top and the answer fills in letter by letter underneath.

👀 Shared view: players standing nearby see the same board and the same planchette moving in real time.

👻 SPIRITS WITH PERSONALITY

Nine spirits live in the board, each with their own name, death, voice and secrets:

🔥 A burned preacher
🎀 A strangled saloon girl
🪢 A hanged outlaw
🍵 A poisoner widow
🩺 A guilty surgeon
👧👦 Twins who answer as one
⛏️ A lost miner
🌑 The Other

💬 They answer the question. Greetings get a greeting back. Names, deaths, favourites, the future, love, fear, God and goodbyes each get a real answer in that spirit’s voice.
🧠 They know who’s asking. Spirits can spell the player’s name, job, town, age and the names of whoever is watching.
🔄 They change partway through. Each spirit leaves and another takes the board.
💰 There’s hidden treasure. One spirit knows where the gold is buried.

💀 THE ENDING

Stay long enough and something else takes the board. It wears a borrowed name until it slips.

🌒 The board turns: it slowly dims and the candlelight starts to flicker.
🫨 The planchette trembles, then slides off the edge of the board on its own.
🔊 Build-up: the text flickers and a rising sound plays, then the screen goes black.
😱 The scare: a full-screen face lunges at the player with glitch tearing, static, white flashes and a pulsing vignette, plus a scream, camera shake and ragdoll.

Nearby watchers can get the scare too, or you can turn that off.
